Check out this guide to learn about the different RV buying options.

Travel Trailer

Travel trailers are towed by a framed or bumper hitch. They come in a variety of different styles and floor plans. These RVs are extremely easy to detach and set up in a campground, and they’re perfect for anyone who wants an RV for a weekend getaway with a small group.

Fifth-wheel RVs are easy to tow and have a residential, home-like feel to them.

They usually come with fully-equipped kitchens that have refrigerators, microwaves, ovens, stovetops, and ample pantry space. Most 5th wheel RVs also come with washer and dryer hookups.

Toy Hauler

A toy hauler is perfect for the outdoor enthusiast who wants to take their motorcycle, kayak, or other fun outdoor gear with them on the road but doesn’t need much additional space.

This type of RV is more compact, with the living area and kitchen all being in one space.

A pop-up RV is extremely lightweight and great for those who have a small towing vehicle. These RVs fold down easily for towing and additional storage.

They can typically sleep 4 to 6 people.

Truck Camper

These RVs sit in the bed of a truck and offer a great deal of flexibility and freedom on the road.

They typically come with a kitchenette, bed, and wet and dry bath. The great thing about this type of RV is that it can be taken into the deep woods for hunting and fishing without having to worry about towing anything behind.

Class A Motorhome

There are both diesel and gas versions of Class A motorhomes. Diesel Class A motorhomes are considered luxury RVs, making them great for long road trips and cross-country adventures.

Many full-time RVers also own Class A diesel motorhomes. Class A gas motorhomes come with many of the same comforts of diesel motorhomes. They’re also popular with full-time RVers and come with many residential-style appliances.

Class B Motorhome

Class B motorhomes serve as the ultimate home on the road for adventurous RVers. This type of motorhome, also known as a camper van, comes with a built-in van chassis.

The great thing about this type of motorhome is that it’s extremely nimble and drives like an automobile.

Class C Motorhome

A Class C motorhome comes with a built-in truck chassis. Many people find Class C motorhomes to be the perfect compromise between Class B and Class A motorhomes.

These motorhomes come with many of the same amenities that a Class C motorhome offers, just on a smaller scale.
